At Alpha’s Choice School, our Montessori Curriculums focus on every area of development. These include; the physical, cognitive, spiritual, social and emotional. We pay close attention to our pupils to ensure that they are properly guided through each development stage.
Areas of Learning include:
•Practical Life Activities (PLA) -
This aspect of the curriculum helps them to master the skills they need in daily life. Hand and eye activities help them to develop proper sighting and coordination.
•Sensorial -
Exploration is key in this area. We ensure that our pupils are continually exploring the world and taking in intuitive impressions through their senses. Sensorial materials encourage children to order and classify the physical properties of the world they live in. These activities stimulate and develop the senses, refining children’s powers of observation, perception, exploration and communication.
•Numeracy –
Mathematical concepts in Montessori Maths can only be properly delivered with the help of quality materials. For a young child to achieve a natural appreciation of mathematical concepts there is need for professional guidance. Sensory experience of numbers, quantity and mathematical operations alongside concrete ideas help the child to understand better.
•Language -
The language curriculum helps the children learn to express themselves. Here, the children are given the freedom of choice of activities offered to help them create many opportunities for them to communicate with their peers and adults around in and out of the school.
•Cultural Exploration of the World Around -
We have put together a superb Montessori environment to stimulates and extend knowledge and understanding of Arts and Crafts, History, Geography, Music, Science and the natural world. Tasks given to children help them realize a pure sense of their own achievement and builds their self-confidence, concentration, independence of thought and action, intellectual curiosity, self-discipline and enthusiasm for learning.

The school started with only two teaching staff in January 2011 and has increased to a team of dedicated, committed and qaulified teaching staff based on the growth of the school to cater for quality education delivery.
